According to reports from Polish outlet Przeglad Sportowy (via – HITC), Championship outfit Newcastle United are considering a shock swoop for Tamas Kadar.
Following the 2-0 victory over Barnsley on Tuesday night, Newcastle United have moved into top spot of the Championship table and the Magpies have now become favourites in many people’s eyes to claim automatic promotion this season.
While Newcastle are undoubtedly doing very well at the moment, it should be noted that there is a long way to go in the season and manager Rafael Benitez will surely not be allowing his players to get carried away anytime soon.
In order to further boost Newcastle’s chances of earning promotion, Benitez is expected to be strengthening his squad during the January transfer window and now according to reports from Polish outlet Przeglad Sportowy, claims have been made that the Magpies are currently considering a shock swoop for Tamas Kadar.
Kadar is currently plying his trade for Polish side Lech Poznan and the defender will be a familiar name to Newcastle as he spent a four year spell at St. James’ Park before being released in 2012.
Since his departure from Newcastle, Kadar has managed to establish himself as one of the most solid defenders in Europe and now claims are being made that the Magpies are planning to swoop in for the Hungarian international for a fee of around £1.8 million in January.
