Daryl Murphy Has Spoken – His Goal In The Under 23’s Seems To Have Done Him Good

As reported in the Chronicle, Daryl Murphy has declared that he is fit and ready to help to try and fire Newcastle to the Premier League.

Murphy played the first half of Newcastle’s under 23’s game against West Brom on Monday, and helped himself to a goal in the process.

The Republic of Ireland hitman hopes that this goal will be the start of better things for him, having only played once for the first team following his move from Ipswich in the summer.

Speaking to the Chronicle, Murphy said: “I have been ready for the last week.

“I have trained with the lads.

“I just needed a few minutes under my belt to get rid of a few of the cobwebs.

“I have not played for a while but feel in good shape.”

On his run-out in the under 23’s, Murphy said: “I think the main thing was to get some game-time.

“I needed that, I haven’t played for quite a while but the goal was a little bonus.”

“It’s been very frustrating because when I signed here I was fully fit and ready.

“I played one game and then picked up an injury literally the next day.

“It has been very frustrating for me sitting in the stands and watching the lads do well.

“You want to be involved and help the team.

“But I’m on the comeback now so hopefully I can stay injury free.”

  1. Hi, im warhammer fan that has been thinking of going to tournaments for awhile. My motivation to attend is to get more games in, I currently live in a small area and dont get to play often. Proplem I have is I like to enjoy a competative game, not a game of ‘who has the most broken list’. All I hear is complaints about uber list spam and it puts me ofv. How to fix and lure guys like me in to expand your scene I dont know.
