Newcastle Star Wanted By Premier League Club

As reported by the Chronicle, Paul Dummett has emerged as a January target for Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace.

Dummett, who has played very well so far this season, was given his Premier League debut by Pardew and it is rumoured that the former Newcastle manager wants the Welsh fullback to cover the left hand side of his defence.

Newcastle have many options in Dummett’s position, but it would be unlikely that they would want to sell the man who is clearly their first choice.

Dummett was also a target for Burnley last summer, with Newcastle rejecting a bid for him back then.

With the club in a far more positive position now, than they were in the summer, it would be strange if they were to accept a bid in the January window.

Newcastle may have plenty of cover at fullback, but they have had very little competition there this season.

Jesus Gamez is injured, Massadio Haidara has just returned and Achraf Lazaar will soon be away on international duty.
