How Does Lee Johnson Feel Months On From These Comments About Newcastle?

As reported by the Chronicle, Bristol City manager, Lee Johnson may well be regretting his comments about Newcastle United and promotion, earlier this season.

After United beat his Bristol City 1-0, Johnson said the following:  “I think Norwich are [the best] – I think that’s fair to say,” Johnson said.

“They have some real senior players in there, who are established Championship and Premier League players.

“They are quick, powerful and big and they tick a lot of boxes that it takes to get promoted.”

Since then, Newcastle have continued their good form and are currently top of the Championship table.

The general consensus is that Newcastle are very likely to go up, and second placed Brighton are very likely to go up with them, as both sides seem to look far better than the others in this division.

Norwich, however, have dropped away since their dramatic 4-3 defeat at St James’ Park and currently sit tenth in the table.

  1. way to completely rip off the chronicle’s article.

and who cares? top of the league and you’re being bitter about a sensible comment. (who didnt think Norwich would be challenging for top spot at the start of the season?). Talk about petty.
