As reported by the Chronicle, Brentford manager Dean Smith has had his say on whether or not Alan Judge will be joining Newcastle United in the January transfer window.
When asked about Judge, Smith said: “For all the talk of Alan Judge going anywhere, he’s not had a training session yet. I think it’s all a bit premature.
“We want Alan to get back to full fitness and return to the player he was. He’s in a good place and he’s striking balls and he’s yet to be coming into the training sessions with the lads.”
Clearly Brentford are not keen on their star man leaving and will do anything to ward teams off.
However, be it Judge or not, Newcastle do need some extra creativity in the short term, with Mo Diame and Christian Atsu off to the African Cup of Nations soon, so it will be interesting to see what Rafa has planned.
