After The Failed French Revolution Could Newcastle Be Set To Turn To Spain? Rafa Has His Say

As reported by the Chronicle, Rafa Benitez is keen to improve Newcastle’s links with teams in Spain.

When asked about it, Benitez said: “We have some coaches here from some of the towns of Extremadura.

“There are coaches of the first and second division there and they have been following me. They were really pleased to come here. They enjoyed the weather here too!

“We showed them the facilities and the staff here.

“The treatment was very good and they are happy to follow me and Newcastle United. We took them around the city to see that and the stadium, they were happy.

Benitez is clearly keen on improving the clubs stature, saying: “It is important to have people coming from different countries, in this case Spain. If they come to see us it means they are following us internationally.”

“It’s always important to have contacts in other countries. I have been following a player in an eastern country.

“One of my former players is there and then you can talk to them and give you more information about players and their mentality.

“You will make mistakes in the transfer window but this relationship is always helpful for the future.”
