Rafa: Newcastle Are In The Market For Something ‘Different’

As reported by the Chronicle, Rafa Benitez has spoken about his plans for the January transfer window, following a disappointing loss to Blackburn Rovers.

After the game, Benitez said:  “We had so many chances to score one goal, and the game could change,”

“We had everything under control. We had to take a chance to change the game. That is football.

“The positive thing is that we did really well.

“The negative thing is that we didn’t get the three points.”

When asked if anything was close to happening, with regards to transfers, Benitez added: “Not yet,” but did confirm that Sammy Ameobi had been recalled from Bolton.

“We are trying to find the right players.

“January is not an easy transfer window. Hopefully we can do something.

“They have to be players to give us some balance or be better than what we have at the moment.

“Playing like this, I think we can win games even without these players.

“Now it is time to keep working and try to find the players. It’s not easy.

“The market is quite strange. There have been a lot of changes.

“We have to try to find these players that will give us something different.”
