As reported by the Chronicle, Rafa Benitez has urged Newcastle United fans to ‘Think big’, in a bid to assure them that he will always take cups seriously, ahead of his sides trip to Birmingham in the FA Cup third round today.
Looking ahead to the game, Benitez said: “It’s a tricky question because we are in the FA Cup and we have to get further,”
“Obviously I want to win trophies. I want to promote and I want to win as many games as we can.
“It is a question of time. It’s not that I want to do it so I can do it now.
“No, we need some time.
The Newcastle manager then went on to reassure the fans that he does believe it will happen, adding: “The reason why I’m here is because you can think big. It’s not that we’re thinking small.
“Obviously for me it is important, because if you go to a small team which has little history and no expectation it is not the same.
