An Interview With The Man That Many Are Hailing As Newcastle’s Potential Saviour

As reported by the Chronicle, Daryl Murphy has spoken out after his first goal for Newcastle against Birmingham City, in the FA Cup 3rd round.

Murphy, who has struggled for game time since his arrival from Ipswich Town said:  “Yeah it has been a long wait for another start – Wolves in the EFL Cup was my last start.

“It has been a while and a long wait. It was definitely worth the wait but I am disappointed we drew the game.”

On whether or not he felt he performed well, Murphy said: “Yeah I hope so, it was always my aim to just get my head down.

“I knew I wasn’t going to walk into the team or anything like that.

“I was just waiting for a chance and thankfully I have scored today.”

After an impressive performance and an important goal, many feel that Murphy could be crucial for Newcastle for the rest of the season and possibly even be the catalyst for Newcastle’s return to form.
