As reported by HITC, Newcastle United and Hamburg are set to do battle over Torino forward, Josef Martinez.
The report was broken by Italian media outlet, Tuttosport and the paper claims that Martinez is deciding which of the two clubs would be better for him to join.
His choice is a hard one, however, as Hamburg find themselves struggling in the Bundesliga, while Newcastle are flying in the second tier of their domestic league. This means that Martinez would essentially have the choice between a team that looks destined for promotion and one that seems to be battling against relegation.
Martinez has had something of an indifferent couple of seasons at Torino, scoring seven goals in forty games, during his first season with the club. Before a disappointing four goals in twenty three games last season.
However, despite his future looking like it will be elsewhere, Martinez does have two goals in four league starts this season.
