The Serbian FA Give An Update On Mitrovic

As reported by the Chronicle, the Serbian FA have given an update on the fitness of Newcastle forward, Aleksandar MItrovic.

The update comes from Serbia’s sporting director sports director, Goran Bunjevcevic.

When Bunjevcevic was asked about the fitness of his country’s star striker, he said:  “Aleksandar will be good, but I admit that we were worried after the first information.”

He then went on to say that he was encouraged by the way that Mitrovic’s knee was “movable”, which he felt meant that he had avoided any serious injury.

He did also say that his country would be keeping a close eye on the situation, adding: “We will be monitoring the situation with the desire to be successful as soon as he recovers and returns to the pitch.”

If Mitrovic is to be successful upon his return, then he may have to regain his place on the bench, which will now surely go to Daryl Murphy, after the Irish striker’s impressive display against Birmingham City.
