As reported by the Chronicle, Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles believes that forward Aleksandar Mitrovic will “be back sooner than we think”.
When asked about the Serbian’s injury, Lascelles said: “Mitro’s a tough guy and he’ll recover from it,”
“There are no bones broken. It’s just a cut on the knee.
“He’s a tough guy. He’ll be back in no time.
“I didn’t see it. I just saw the cut on his leg, which was quite deep.
He also praised Mitrovic for his bravery in the game, adding: “Because he was throwing his body around there, he got us a goal.
“Fair play to him, he’ll be back sooner than we think.”
With Newcastle still yet to do any business this window, I think that everyone who is involved with the club will be hopeful that Mitrovic will return sooner rather than later, especially with Rafa Benitez only having two other options in that position.
