Could This Former NUFC Boss Be About To Help Out His Old Club?

As reported by the Chronicle, former Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren has spoken about the qualities that Newcastle target Tom Ince has.

Speaking after Ince scored the winner against West Brom, McClaren said: “Tom has got great ability – he can score and assist.

“He should be a Premier League player.

“He has had opportunities and you have seen the fight he has.

McClaren also spoke of Ince’s desire to get back to the top flight, adding: “He wants to get back there. He showed his Premier League quality.

“He has to keep that going.

“It is consistency, doing it week in, week out, and day in, day out.

“It is about being relentless.”

McClaren did not speak about the reported interest from his former club, but if he is right about Ince, and Rafa Benitez does manage to land the player, then McClaren could be doing his former employers a huge favour and their is an argument that it would be his best transfer for Newcastle.
