If Reports Are True Then Ashley Is Making His Biggest Mistake Yet

As reported by The Mirror, it is rumoured that Mike Ashely has put his foot down over Newcastle’s current transfer policy and demanded that the club reinstate his old policy of signing young players that they can sell for a profit.

Although there has been no confirmation from Ashley, or any member of his staff, this could explain the clubs lack of business this window.

However, if this was true, it could be Ashley’s biggest mistake yet.

Not only would Ashley be jeopardizing any progress in the current window, and by extension, this season and any promotion challenge that the club are looking to maintain, but he would also be jeopardizing the only positive thing to happen here for some time.

He would be risking losing a truly world class manager, Rafa Benitez has been there and done almost everything in football, and for Ashley to throw away any chance of success with Benitez, would no doubt be his biggest mistake to date.

  1. So Ashley goes to two matches and the papers think what can we do to cause trouble. Having said that if Ashley is trying to interfere and risk losing Benitez. Then he would be an idiot. And his biggest mistake yet. Bigger than Keegan and bigger than not keeping

  3. Ashley is interested in money and the best way for him to get it is under Rafa. Not only is Rafa building a team that could/should get us promoted but he is doing it on a profit. Ashley isnt stupid and he know 🙄 Rafa is his best chance to cash in on the Premiership TV money.
Another Sunday morning news story with no substance.

  4. Scary reports that Mike was locked in a private dining room with Dennis Wise all day on Thursday at the Hotel Du Vin in Newcastle. This was verified by staff

  5. This report can only be nonsense and is likely designed to sell the paper but unfortunately because of its content can create internal problems at Newcastle. Ashley needs to react decisively and swiftly to put a stop to this irresponsible reporting and assure the Newcastle fans that Rafa is in complete control of all football matters at St. Jame’s Park.
    Over to you Mike!!!!
