Newcastle Star Admits Tonight Is Not A Priority

As reported by the Chronicle, Newcastle United star Ayoze Perez has said that promotion should be the priority ahead of an FA Cup 3rd round replay with Birmingham, tonight.

The Spanish star, who made two goals in last weekends win against Brentford said: “At the end of the day it’s a league table and you have to finish as high as you can, that’s all we are thinking of.”

He confirmed his belief that promotion should be the priority by adding: “It means a lot to us. That spirit and character we have is what we have to take advantage of.

“We must use it until the end of the season but we must fight until in the end.”

“There’s a lot of games and you get tired but it’s tough and we must get on with it. We know they are injured.

When asked about Newcastle’s injury crisis, Perez said: “Hopefully, they will be back as soon as possible. We still have more players who can do this job. We’ll try to get that job done.”

“Dwight has been so important for us. The other day when Murphy came on he won the game for us.

“That’s a good thing and shows we are all ready. We have to focus on each game.”
