Rafa: Transfer Target Is ‘Someone I Like Alot’

As reported by the Chronicle, Rafa Benitez has spoken about his plans for the remainder of the January transfer window.

However, when asked if Andros Townsend was likely to join, Benitez said: “We are not talking about names,”

“There are a lot of good players in England and around the world that will be good for us.

“We have some options, a couple of them could be really good. Someone I like a lot, so hopefully we can progress.

Benitez also added that any deals this window could be loan deals, saying: “We are watching everything – it is easier to bring a player on loan with an option or obligation. We are working on that and I have confidence we can do well.”

“We have some names, we have had some names but clubs say: ‘£20million’ or ‘he’s not for sale’. Then we have to move forward and look for another one.

“We are trying to do the same and still I have confidence that because we are at the top of the table, because we are doing so well, because we did so well in the transfer window before, that we will get the players that we want or that we need for improving the team.

“In January, it’s so difficult. To find these players with experience who can make the difference, it’s very difficult.”

  1. I’m willing to let go of auto-pilot! By this I mean the tune-out, cruise control mode of coasting through the day reacting as if I wasn’t really present – just letting things happen without REALLY thinking and BEING involved. I’m willing to let go of check-out and substitute check-in.
