Is It Make or Break Time For NUFC Star?

Newcastle travel to Oxford United today, looking to progress into the FA Cup 5th round.

However, after recent years, it is something of an achievement that they are making the trip at all.

Newcastle had not won an FA Cup tie for five years before this season and when the 3rd round tie against Birmingham went to a replay, many feared the worst.

However, despite giving three younger players a chance, non of which let manager Rafa Benitez down, Newcastle won comfortably an progressed to the next round.

Not many things have been as rare as a Newcastle FA Cup win recently. However, if anything has been as rare, it is Jesus Gamez being available for a game.

Since his arrival in the summer, Gamez has barely featured due to injury but hasn’t looked out of place in any of his fleeting appearances.

With Vurnon Anita out injured, Gamez will not have a better opportunity to establish himself at fullback.

Today could be make or break for Newcastle’s most high profile summer signing.
