As reported by the Chronicle, Newcastle United winger Sammy Ameobi believes that he is being “rewarded” by the club for his good form while on loan at Bolton.
Ameobi clearly felt that his time at Newcastle was up, when he was loaned out in the summer and when he was asked about pre-season, he said: “I wasn’t involved in pre-season. I was with the reserve team.
“I’ve gone away thinking there wouldn’t be an opportunity to come back.
“The way things have turned out, I’ve gone away, done well and worked hard.
However, despite his feelings at the beginning of the season, Ameobi clearly feels that his time on loan at Bolton has clearly benefited him, adding: “It was probably the best thing to happen.
“I needed to humble myself and get back to working hard every day.
“I’ve been rewarded by being brought back, which I’m very thankful for.”
