Former NUFC Favourite Opens Up About His Time On Tyneside

As reported by the Chronicle, former Newcastle United hero, Jonas Gutierrez has broken his silence on his time at the club.

Jonas and the club were last year involved in a court battle, that saw the Argentine midfielder win his case for a disability discrimination.

When asked about his time at Newcastle, Jonas said:  “I do not hold grudges, that’s it. To the fans of Newcastle I will carry in my heart by the way they supported me before and after my illness. That beautiful city made me enjoy the years that I was. I will always be grateful and the rest is not worth talking about.”

“From that moment I am more relaxed about things. I try to take care of the things that I can control and nothing else, My mentality has changed.”

He then added, on playing in Argentina for one more season: “My idea is to stay here because it was the possibility that Argentine football gave me to be close to my family. This season is going to be very nice and then I will see, but I am very happy to be at Defensa.”
