As reported by the Chronicle, Matz Sels has given an interview to Nieuwsblad about his future at Newcastle United.
Sels has not been in the best of form since his arrival in the summer, and that is probably putting it kindly. He has made some costly errors in his short time on Tyneside, but Sels seems adamant that his fortunes will soon turn.
Speaking before his old side, Gent played Tottenham in the Europa League, Sels said: “I have not been able to build up the credit here that I had at Gent,”
“If the situation stays the same, I will talk to Newcastle in the summer about a solution.
“Maybe a loan to another English club and then in time I can still return to Newcastle.”
After a tough start to his career in England, Sels must be commended for wanting to stick it out in this country and be a success at Newcastle.
