VIDEO: Former NUFC hero continues to score goals in black & white

Shola Ameobi’s long-standing relationship with Newcastle United may have ended in 2014 after 14 years at the club – but the 35 year old continues to score goals in black & white stripes.

The ‘Mackem Slayer’ now plys his trade at League Two side Notts County, having being signed in January by former NUFC captain and Notts County manager, Kevin Nolan. It is rather fitting that the pair of ex-mags now find themselves at a club playing in black & white, also known as ‘The Magpies’!

Up against relegation rivals Hartlepool United on Saturday, Nolan handed Ameobi a start in a bid to drag the club out of danger. Despite missing a first half penalty (unlike him I know!), Shola atoned for his error in the 2nd half, grabbing his first goal for the Magpies & securing a vital 3 points for Kevin Nolans side.

See below for the penalty miss, the goal & what appears to be his new celebration!
