There was some familiar faces on show in a strong Newcastle United line up, as Matz Sels, Sammy Ameobi, Massaido Haidara, Curtis Good, Stuart Findlay & Daniel Barlaser all started in the 1pm kick off. Exciting young wingers Victor Fernandez & Yasin El-Mhanni also featured, being two players recently signed by Rafa Benitez in a bit to add exciting new talent to the Newcastle United ranks.
West Ham had taken 0-1 & 1-2 leads during what was an entertaining game at St.James’ park, but TWO impressive late strikes from Sammy Ameobi gave Newcastle the win, sending The Magpies second string into the quarter-finals of the U-23 Premier League cup.
