NUFC youngster scores spectacular bicycle kick in MOTM Scunthorpe performance

It was a great day yesterday for Newcastle Unted loanee, Ivan Toney,  who scored twice for Scunthorpe – including one spectacular over-head kick.

Toney, who signed from Northampton in 2015, put in an impressive display, earning himself man of the match and his side three valuable points over Bradford in front of the Sky Sports cameras yesterday.

The 21 year-old has 9 goals in 23 starts in League One this season and opened the scoring after just 3 minutes, with this alert finish at the back post:

It was in the second half, however, where his real moment of magic arrived.

Watch below as he latches onto a ball in behind and following a poor first touch, improvises superbly to direct the ball home in acrobatic fashion:

Toney’s goals not only saw him awarded with man of the match, but helped Scunthorpe to a vital 3-2 win over promotion rivals Bradford – no doubt impressing Newcastle United officials in the process.

It was a lively performance from the striker, who was given a rare start and took his chance superbly – boding well for any opportunities he may be handed on Tyneside in the years to come.
