It has been revealed that Newcastle United had a scout present in France’s World Cup Qualifying win in Luxembourg on Saturday night.
The news came from RMC Sport journalist, Georges Quirino, who tweeted the scouting list from the game that night, highlighting that Newcastle, amongst several other English clubs, had a scout present at the game.

While we know Newcastle are preparing for a potential return to the Premier League next season, it is interesting to see an NUFC representative watching a game full of top class French talent.
With an abundance of world class ability in their side, it is difficult to pick out a single player in the French squad that night, who could be seen as a realistic summer target for Rafa Benitez:

Who knows, maybe Newcastle were checking out the latest Luxembourg talent, given the Antoine Griezmann’s, Dimitri Payet’s and Ngolo Kante’s of this world may just be out of our price range should we gain promotion this summer!!
