Great news: TWO key NUFC players set to return for Monday’s visit of Preston

Rafa Benitez looks set to be handed a big boost ahead of Monday’s huge game against Preston at St. James’ Park, with key duo Dwight Gayle and Ciaran Clark in line to return from injury.

After our appalling 3-1 defeat away to Ipswich on Easter Monday, this update, provided by The Chronicle, offers an opportune boost to fans, who will be in need of a lift after our recent wobble.

The duo returned to full training this week, with both looking set to be available once again for Monday’s crunch game against Preston at St. James’.

Against Ipswich, we lacked composure at both ends of the field, making the potential return of our top scorer and best defender be all the more timely. Gayle has missed the past two games following a hamstring injury at Sheffield Wednesday, with Clark having missed the last six, seeing us win just twice in his absence.

Monday’s visit of Preston is a massive game and a possible opportunity to seal our promotion back to the Premier League, making it all the more important that these two key players are back in action.

Here’s hoping the pair continue to progress well in training and are back in the team next week to give us a much needed lift.
