Christian Atsu has recommended Chelsea left-back Abdul Baba Rahman to Rafa Benitez this summer according to the Mirror.
Atsu, on loan from Chelsea this season, is believed to have talked up his fellow Ghanian – who he will know well from his time at Stamford bridge – urging Benitez to make a move for the out of favour left-back this summer.
Rahman was signed by Jose Mourinho in the summer of 2015, arriving for £22million from German side Ausburg.
The 22 year-old has struggled to ever nail down a place in their first team, however, seeing him spend this season on loan at Schalke – who are said to be keen on extending his stay after his impressive spell in Germany.
Newcastle are said to be in the market for a left-back this summer and while a move for Baba Rahman is far from imminent, he is the sort of player I see United targeting this summer.
