The Daily Mail have today claimed that Alan Pardew could be set for a shock return to management with Sheffield Wednesday next season.
They claim that the former Newcastle United manager is in line to replace Carlos Carvalhal, regardless of whether he gets the Owls promoted to the Premier League or not.
Sheffield Wednesday play in the second leg of their play off semi-final against Huddersfield tomorrow night and it’s fair to say their fans are not amused by the latest rumours.
Here’s what their fans and the footballing world had to say about the prospect of Alan Pardew taking over at Hillsborough next season:
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT GET PARDEW :/ #swfc

Alan Pardew linked to #SWFC job regardless of which league they're in next season. Would be a downgrade on Carlos Carvalhal.

Great for Pardew news to come out day before the biggest game of the season. Hope I'm wrong in thinking there's trouble behind the scenes

It’s fair to say they don’t seem impressed and I don’t blame them. Wednesday look a promising side under Carvalhal and we’ve seen that first hand, with the Owls doing the double over us this season.
