Belgian league star in talks with ‘two unnamed Premier League clubs’ – one said to be NUFC

Belgian reports have today credited Newcastle United with an interest in exciting young prospect Henry Onyekuru.

The 19-year-old forward, who won young player of the year in Belgium, has enjoyed a fantastic season, catching the eye of several clubs in world football after 20 goals this season for newly promoted side, K.A.S. Eupen.

Sky Sports reported this week that ‘two unnamed Premier League clubs’ were in talks with the talented youngster, with reports from Belgian today suggesting Newcastle are one of those clubs.

Despite interest from Celtic, his representatives have told Sky Sports News that he desires a move to England and talks with the two unnamed clubs are ‘progressing well’.

Onyekuru can play out wide or up top and is said to have a release clause which allows him to leave for just £6.8m this summer – a steal this day and age for a player of his reported potential.

He may not be the proven Premier League signing Newcastle need to prioritise this summer, but if this video is anything to go by, he’s look a real talent – Belgian league or not!
