Newcastle United have tabled a bid for Huddersfield’s player of the season Aaron Mooy according to reports in Australia.
The Australian midfielder has enjoyed a superb season at Huddersfield this year, but looks set to return to his parent club Manchester City this summer.
It is reported that the 26 year-old has a release clause of little under £10m and SBS claim Newcastle and Crystal Palace have both submitted firm offers for his signature this summer .
Mooy has chipped in with 4 goals and 7 assists this season and has been the maestro in Huddersfield’s impressive season, often making them tick and impressing me whenever i’ve seen them play.
For anyone keen to see him in action, the Terriers face Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough tonight in the play off semi-final second leg, with the winner set to face Reading in this year’s final.
It is impossible to know whether these rumours are true, however Mooy looks to be a very handy player. He’s at an ideal age, is on the back of a brilliant season and appears to be available at a very reasonable fee.
Newcastle need midfield reinforcements this summer and a move for Mooy could be a shrewd one.
From this moment…I’m not listening, reading or getting involved in any transfer talk until they’ve signed..?
