NUFC linked with part-exchange for Derby County top scorer

The Mirror report that Tom Ince could be set to leave Derby County this summer, with Newcastle United said to be interested in doing a deal.

The report claims Derby County are ready to cash in on their top scorer, valued at £10m, to raise funds this summer, claiming Newcastle United could offer Grant Hanley plus cash for the winger.

We were linked with an £8m deal for Ince in January, however, former boss Steve McClaren laughed of such rumours, claiming such an offer wouldn’t be enough to buy his right foot!

Since then, the 25-year-old has went on to enjoy a prolific season in the Championship, scoring 15 goals and assiststing 6, but i’d be inclined to steer clear of this one.

He’s proven and prolific at Championship level after successful spells with Blackpool and Derby in the second tier, however Ince made no impact during brief Premier League loans to Hull and Crystal Palace.

He’d be a handy squad player, but with the addition of Atsu in mind, i’d hope Newcastle’s next signing out wide is a level up from Tom Ince.
