NUFC ‘considering’ move to sign for Manchester City forward

The Chronicle claim this morning that Newcastle are ‘considering’ a loan bid for Manchester City prospect Kelechi Iheanacho.

They suggest Newcastle are interested in a move for Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi, but the link to the promising Manchester City striker is a new one this summer.

Iheanacho has had limited game time at the Etihad, but has became known for his goalscoring ability whenever he gets his chance in the side.

He is, however, falling back in the pecking order at Manchester City, with the arrival of Gabriel Jesus and presence of Sergio Aguero likely to see his chances limited even further.

The 20 year-old striker needs a loan move away and with Benitez said to be looking at loan deals for players struggling for games in top 6 sides, this one makes a lot of sense.

There will be no end of Premier League clubs hoping to secure him on loan, so we’d face a fight on our hands, but he’d certainly be a player i’d like to see at Newcastle if Benitez could pull this one off.
