Claims from Italy this morning that Newcastle United have agreed personal terms with Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
The rumour comes from Gazzetta dello Sport and BeIN Sports journalist, Tancredi Palmeri who claims that personal terms have been agreed with the ex-Liverpool stopper and that it is now down to Reina to decide between staying in Italy or returning to the Premier League to be reunited with Rafa Benitez.
Newcastle have found agreement on personal terms with Reina. Only thing to solve is Reina still not certain whether to leave Napoli or not

Following recent reports of Rafa Benitez’s interest in former Liverpool and Napoli goalkeeper, it is believed that Pepe Reina’s agent Manuel Garcia Quilon had travelled to Naples to discuss the goalkeeper’s future.
Today’s news suggests a deal to bring Reina to Tyneside could be in the offing, with news of Wojciech Szczesny’s proposed move to Napoli also adding fuel to the fire that Reina could be set to leave Napoli.
At 34, Reina may be entering his latter years, however the Spaniard has played at the highest level all of his career, and with 37 appearances in Napoli’s 3rd place finish in Serie A last season, there’s plenty to suggest he’s still got it.
Despite our vast goalkeeping options, I expect Rafa to ring the changes this summer and the signing of Reina would certainly be an upgrade.
