Newcastle United full-back Kevin Mbabu looks set to be sold this summer, despite impressing on loan at BSC Young Boys last season.
Sports writer Kristan Heneage released the following tweet over the weekend, reporting that the 22-year-old is close to agreeing a transfer to Young Boys – the Swiss side that he’s enjoyed a successful loan spell with over the 2016/17 campaign:
Kevin Mbabu looks to be leaving #NUFC. He confirmed last night he's a few details away from signing a 3-year-deal with Young Boys.

Mbabu has made just 5 first team appearances for Newcastle, however one of those included an impressive league debut against Chelsea in 2015, remembered for his outstanding display against, seeing him get the better of Pedro and Eden Hazard.
Newcastle handed Mbabu a two-year contract extension last summer, tying the long haired defender down until 2018 before sending him out on loan to BSC Young Boys in his native country last summer.
The right-back has caught the eye during his loan spell, making news of his potential sale all the more disappointing.
He appears to have all the traits of a promising modern day full-back, with his energy, athleticism and explosiveness there for all to see in this highlight video from his time in Switzerland last season:

Here’s hoping claims of his exit are premature. Mbabu looks a player with a lot more to offer than the likes of Gamez, Lazaar and Sterry and I believe we’d be foolish to let him go.
