Aleksandar Mitrovic heading out on loan?

Aleksandar Mitrovic could be set for a loan move away from St. James’ Park this summer, with Turkish reports stating this morning that the Serbian is a loan target for Turkish giants, Fenerbahce.

The story breaks from spor.mynet, claiming that the Turkish sides news manager, Aykut Kocaman, is keen to bring the Serbian striker in on loan this summer.

With Tammy Abraham looking likely to join on a season-long loan, the Northern Echo suggested over the weekend that this could pave the way for Mitrovic’s exit this summer.

Whilst the 22-year-old endured a disappointing campaign in the Championship last season, scoring just 4 league goals, I would be prefer to see him leave on loan than be sold permanently.

His displays last season gave us little to believe he could be a reliable goalscorer in the top flight, however i’d be reluctant to let him leave for good.

Whilst performances trump passion, his love for the club is infectious. I believe it makes sense for all parties to loan him out, giving him a chance to impress and Rafa an opportunity to see what he can do when given a chance to play week in week out.
