The Telegraph report that Tammy Abraham wants a move to the North-East and will choose Newcastle, over Brighton and several other Premier League rivals, as the destination of his loan move next season.
Newcastle were thought to be close to the completion of his loan signing last weekend, however it was revealed that the 19-year-old would take time to decide following interest from newly promoted Brighton.
It is understood that Abraham was weighing up his options, with regular first-team football the priority for the Chelsea prospect next season, however the Telegraph claim Abraham will sign on Tyneside by the weekend after his representatives informed Newcastle’s hierarchy that he wants to play under Rafa Benitez.
Chelsea and the player himself believe he is ready to play in the top flight, with a move to St. James’ Park believed to be ideal to expose him to the pressure and expectation that will come at a big club like Newcastle.
With 74 goals in 98 games at youth level for Chelsea and 26 goals in his debut season in senior football for Bristol City last season, Abraham looks to be one of the hottest prospects in English football and a player i’d be happy to have in our ranks.
