NUFC set to reignite interest in Manchester City man available for £12m

It has been reported today in the Chronicle that Newcastle are set to reignite their interest in England International midfielder Fabian Delph this summer.

It is believed that Manchester City are willing to let the former Aston Villa man leave for £12m, with West Brom and Stoke set to compete with Newcastle for his signature.

After making an £8m move from Aston Villa two years ago, Delph has made just 23 appearances for City and is set to be one of several players axed by Pepe Guardiola over the coming weeks.

There’s no doubt that the 27 year-old midfielder needs a move to reignite his career and Rafa Benitez and Newcastle United may provide his ideal escape route, with the Spaniard said to be an admirer of the England international – a player United looked to take on loan in the January window.

With Jack Colback likely to leave and doubts over Mohamed Diame, we are in need of proven central midfielders this summer and Delph could prove to be a solid buy should he be able to stay fit and rediscover his best form.
