Transfer talk – a round up of today’s NUFC transfer gossip – 15/06/2017

Today’s round up of all NUFC related transfer talk:

  • Rafa Benitez is keen to be reunited with his former Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva and is understood to have made an enquiry for the Brazilian (Northern Echo)
  • Newcastle have joined Everton and West Ham for want away Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling  according to The Independent today.
  • The club announced earlier today that promising full-back Kevin Mbabu has left Newcastle, signing permanently with Swiss giants BSC Young Boys for an undisclosed fee on a three-year-deal.

  • Huddersfield have agreed a £10m fee to sign reported NUFC target Aaron Mooy, however Australian reports claim Newcastle are still in the race to sign the midfielder (SBS Australia)
  • Swansea are the latest club to have registered an interest in loan target Tammy Abraham, and will compete with NUFC to sign the highly rated Chelsea striker (Northern Echo)
  • Werder Bremen’s Luca Caldirola won’t be signing for Newcastle this summer, with the formerly linked defender signing a new two-year deal with the German side.
  • Sky Sports report that Huddersfield have had a £7.2million bid rejected for former NUFC target Tom Ince, currently at Derby County.
