Today’s round up of all NUFC related transfer talk:
- Newcastle United have enquired about the availability of Valencia centre-back Aymen Abdennour. The La Liga side are prepared to let the formerly linked defender leave for £13m (Foot Mercato).
- After being sold to BSC Young boys yesterday, former NUFC defender Kevin Mbabu has suggested in a heartfelt farewell message to fans that he would’ve ‘loved’ to stay at the club.
- According to the often reliable ‘L’Equipe’, Rafa Benitez has made enquiries over the potential signing of Lyon captain Maxime Gonalons – with the 28-year-old reportedly available for as little as £4.5m this summer (L’Equipe).
- French reports also claim today that despite placing a bid of €10m for Nicolas Pepe, the Ivory Coast winger is set to turn down Newcastle in favour of a move to Lille, with the 22-year-old feeling he is ‘not ready’ for a move to England (L’Equipe).
- NUFC are still believed to be confident of securing the loan signing of Tammy Abraham despite growing competition from Brighton, Leicester, Swansea and Dutch side Vitesse (Northern Echo)
- Club Brugge have made an offer of €500,000 for NUFC goalkeeper Matz Sels according to reports in Belgium, with Anderlecht and Fenerbahce also interested (Voetbalnieuws.be).
