Exclusive claims NUFC are in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Porto striker

According to an exclusive by Turkish outlet Futbol Arena claims NUFC are in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Porto striker Vincent Aboubakar.

The Cameroon International scored 19 goals in 38 games on loan at Besiktas last season, and the Turkish champions had been in negotiations to sign him permanently from Porto, however those talks are believed to have stalled following ‘serious interest’ from Newcastle.

It is also being reported that Besiktas are frustrated by Newcastle’s interest as they feel unable to compete financially with Premier League sides.

Futbol Arena claim we are now in advanced negotiations for Aboubakar, with Porto understood to have made the 25-year-old striker available for €10m this summer.

We await more details on this transfer rumour, but it would not come as a surprise if Rafa Benitez is pursuing other attacking targets after the time being taken from Tammy Abraham to decide on his potential loan move to NUFC.
