Serie A midfielder drops big hint that he’s heading to NUFC this summer

At the back end of last month, Newcastle were linked with a move for Torino midfielder Afriyie Acquah, and today the Ghanaian midfielder has given two big hints that he could be set for a move to Tyneside.

Not only has he admitted today that a move to England is almost done, but the Serie A midfielder has just recently followed the official Newcastle United account on Twitter.

Acquah, 25, is a box-to-box central midfielder and has caught the eye in recent seasons in Italy, becoming known for his energy, tenacity and versatility in midfield.

An exclusive story by Ghana Soccernet claimed last month that Newcastle were ready to meet the £8m valuation for Torino midfielder Acquah and today, the rumour has resurfaced, with the 25-year-old stating the following:

“Yes, it is very likely I will be moving to England”

“It is 90 per cent complete, but we are still talking, once we finish, I am sure an announcement will be made.”

“It has been a dream of mine to play in England and I am very close to achieving this.”

Newcastle have been credited with an interest in Acquah, but so have several other players this summer, so we are purely speculating at this stage, however his comments regarding a move to England and his activity on Twitter suggest a move to Tyneside may just be in the offing.

One to watch perhaps?
