Newcastle United have made a move to sign former Barcelona winger Adama Traore from North-East rivals Middlesbrough according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims Rafa Benitez has made an enquiry for the talented 21-year-old and hopes to beat West Ham and Chelsea to his signature this summer.
Traore showed flashes of brilliance in a lifeless Middlesborough side last season, with his pace, power and ability to take a man on with ease catching the eye. It must be said, however, that his end product left a lot to be desired, seeing him register just one assist all season.

New Boro boss Gary Monk believes he can make Traore a better player and hopes to convince him to stay, however the prospect of linking up with Rafa Benitez and playing Premier League football could be an offer hard to refuse for the Spanish speedster.
He is far from the finished article, but Traore would be a worthwhile addition to the squad this summer, being a player who could get fans off their seats and realise his potential under the eagle-eyed Rafa Benitez.
