Newcastle United fans were last night urging Rafa Benitez to make a move for former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez after it was revealed that the Mexican has a £13m release clause at Bayern Leverkusen.
The Mirror revealed ‘Chicharito’s’ release clause over the weekend and, with us being in the hunt for a new striker this summer, we believe Hernandez could be the perfect signing.
Hernandez proved his worth during his 6 year spell at Old Trafford, with his finishing ability, high energy and pace making him one of the Premier League’s most feared goal scorers.
He appears to have taken that form to Germany, scoring 39 goals in 76 games for Bayern Leverkusen and whilst West Ham are believed to be interested in exercising his £13m release clause, we would urge Benitez to take a look.
Hernandez turned 29 last month, but is a proven goalscorer and a player who would almost certainly be a hit on Tyneside.
We can only hope, but it makes so much sense..
