It has been suggested today that the representatives of Norwich City’s Jacob Murphy could be on their way to Newcastle to discuss a potential deal for the England-U21 winger after a picture was leaked by the players entourage.
Murphy is represented by New Era Global Sports who posted the following image on their Snapchat today, showing a picture of a train ticket destined for Newcastle with some slightly suggestive emoji’s to boot.
This was then leaked onto social media, with the rumour carrying some weight due to The Chronicle confirming Newcastle’s interest in the Norwich winger just last week.
It is also worth mentioning that following the unveiling of Lejeune today, local press have suggested that Newcastle are in advanced talks to sign TWO more players, with claims that midfielders are now on Rafa’s wanted list adding yet more fuel to the fire.
People are putting 2 and 2 together here – there’s every chance this is not in fact Murphy’s agent heading to Tyneside to discuss a move – but it is an intriguing development that hasn’t gone unnoticed by NUFC editor Mark Douglas:
