Transfer talk – a round up of this weekend’s NUFC transfer gossip

A round up of all the NUFC related transfer talk over the weekend:

  • The Chronicle have confirmed Newcastle United are interested in signing Middlesbrough’s Spanish speedstar Adama Traore – given Boro recently bid £5m for Karl Darlow, the NUFC stopper could be used in the deal.
  • Newcastle are in ‘pole position’ to sign former Man City winger Jesus Navas on a free agent (The Mirror).
  • Newcastle are believed to have made offers for a central midfielder and winger in La Liga and are set to up their striker search in the coming weeks – they hope to confirm another signing by the Hearts game on Friday (The Chronicle)

  • Rafa Benitez is believed to have an eye on Swansea’s want-away winger Jefferson Montero for a cut-price fee of £4m (Sun on Sunday)
  • Newcastle, along with Leicester, Burnley and West Brom, are interested in signing Everton’s James McCarthy this summer however the Toffees are said to be asking £25m for the midfielder (Daily Mail).
  • Rafa is interested in Manchester City’s England midfielder Fabian Delph, but the £12M asking price and high wages look set to test NUFC’s ambition. (Daily Mail)
