Leaked picture reveals that Rafa’s latest transfer target is a boyhood NUFC fan

Newcastle have heavily linked with a move for England U-21 and Norwich star Jacob Murphy and it has been revealed that the 22-year-old winger is in fact a boyhood NUFC fan!

Since the rumours of his potential move to Tyneside emerged, the picture below has been uprooted online, showing Jacob with his twin brother Josh both donning the famous old Newcastle Brown Ale shirts:

We’ve also flagged up and old tweet of Murphy’s, seeing the Norwich winger refer to Newcastle as ‘my team’.

It was reported by North-East correspondent Craig Hope yesterday that we had seen an £8m bid rejected for the England U-21 International, with Norwich demanding he is not for sale unless we significantly up our offer.

Whilst the likelihood of this transfer currently appears to be on the rocks, it has been suggested that the deal may only be resurrected if the player pushes for the move.

Now we know Murphy is a United fan, could Murphy be tempted to push for a move to his boyhood club?

Time will tell, but it’s certainly a factor that could play into our hands.

  1. Surely this actually shows that his parents were Newcastle fans, as its unlikely that the kids went out and bought the shirts.

Or even that the parents were alcoholics and had a thing for Brown Ale??????
