North-East reporters offer message to fans after new claims that Benitez’s future is now in ‘serious doubt’

Around lunchtime today, the often reliable Martin Hardy of The Independent reported that Rafa Benitez’s future is now in serious doubt, however NUFC’s North-East correspondents Craig Hope and Luke Edwards have offered a message of reassurance to the fans after yet more worry about the Spaniard’s future.

Before I go on, let me say that we’re tired of writing about Benitez’s future as much as you are reading about it, but given the speculation and stories that get thrown around online, we feel it’s only right and relevant to keep you updated. He is after all the man we solely pin our hopes on for the immediate future of our beloved club.

Martin Hardy, who has spent a lot of time behind the scenes at NUFC writing his latest book ‘Rafa’s way’, wrote a piece for The Independent today, stating that “Newcastle’s momentum has given way to mistrust” and after a “stagnant summer Rafa Benitez’s future is now in serious doubt”.

Given this came from a well placed source, it was naturally met with panic and worry, fearing the worst for the one man that is currently giving us hope at our football club; Rafa Benitez.

Whilst no one is playing down Rafa’s frustrations – they clearly exist – North-East journalists Craig Hope and Luke Edwards offered a reassuring message to ease all of our fears:

One things are for certain. We can no longer bury our heads in the sand and believe the unthinkable won’t happen – it could. If the powers that be don’t deliver on their promises, Rafa Benitez has every chance of walking out on the club this summer.

I for one can only pray that the unpredictable Mike Ashley does not let the unthinkable happen and sorts this mess out. We live in hope.

  1. Thanks Olly. I am definitely with you. Rafa is still hoping for response from Ashley. It is just I don’t trust Ashley, at all.

  2. Ashley is not intested in buying good players 4 this great club witch he has destroyed over the years i don’t think the toon will last long in the premiership that fat man has got to spend a lot of money to get good players if we are to stay up personally i think rafa has to really think about his position at this club
