Emmanuel Riviere could be set to finally leave the club, with Ligue 1 side Metz opening talks to sign the Newcastle United flop according to L’Equipe.
L’Equipe states the 27-year-old striker looks set to leave the club this summer, and Metz have shown their interest, with Riviere hoping to relaunch his career back in his homeland.

The Frenchman joined the Magpies for £6m in the summer of 2014 on a ‘long-term contract’ and still has 1 year left on his deal.
Riviere has endured a torrid 3 years, however, scoring just 3 times in 31 appearances for Newcastle, followed by an unsuccessful loan spell in Spain last season, where he failed to score in 17 outings for Osasuna.
Newcastle are desperate for incomings this summer, but with well over 30 players currently training at the Benton base, Rafa knows he will have to flog some of the deadwood currently residing at the club, and Riviere fits firmly into that category.
