Newcastle United are in the hunt for TWO wingers this summer according to The Chronicle, with Rafa Benitez resurrecting his interest in Liverpool’s Sheyi Ojo whilst talks are ongoing for Norwich winger Jacob Murphy.
National reports this morning had suggested that we were preparing a ‘last’-gasp’ £10m bid for Ojo, however local press have since denied such speculation, claiming that we are ready to reignite our interest in a loan deal for the Liverpool winger.
It had been suggested last week that Middlesbrough were set to win the race for Ojo’s signature, with Liverpool preferring for him to gain regular first-team experience in the Championship opposed to intermittent appearances at St. James’ Park in the top flight.
NUFC have resurrected interest in Sheyi Ojo but only as a loan deal. Still hoping for progress on Jacob Murphy – it's not one or other.

Newcastle had an initial loan offer rejected for Ojo earlier this summer, with it believed that Jurgen Klopp was keen to see him in action over pre-season before making a decision, however the England U-20 star has just been left out of Liverpool’s tour of Hong Kong, fuelling speculation that Klopp may be ready to reconsider.
Meanwhile, NUFC’s pursuit of Norwich’s Jacob Murphy drags on. It is understood that we made an improved bid of £10m + ads ons over the weekend. The ever reliable George Caulkin (The Times) has claimed that Norwich are still holding out for more, however believes that the deal is ‘close enough that it *should* get done’.
