Daryl Murphy looks set to finalise a move away from St. James’ Park after it has been confirmed that the striker has completed his Nottingham Forest medical after they agreed a £2m fee with Newcastle. NUFC U-23 star Sean Longstaff also looks set for a loan move to Blackpool.
After reports yesterday suggested that Forest had submitted a £2m offer for Murphy, Sky Sports have confirmed that the bid has been accepted by Newcastle, with the Republic of Ireland striker set to sign a three-year deal with the Championship side.
Murphy was a consummate professional during his time at Newcastle, scoring some key goals and fully justifying his signing by Rafa Benitez last summer.
We wish him all the best at Nottingham Forest – a good deal for all parties.
Sean Longstaff, who spent last season at Kilmarnock, looks set for a temporary departure from Tyneside, with the highly-rated midfielder close to a loan move to Blackpool according to The Chronicle.
The 19-year old is one of the most promising prospects in the U-23 set up and will be one to watch during his loan spell in League One next season.
