North-East reporter reveals exciting info on NUFC’s transfer plans for the rest of the window

An interesting nugget of information has been revealed by The Chronicle’s Mark Douglas following the £12m arrival of Jacob Murphy yesterday, with the NUFC editor suggesting that Newcastle’s ‘biggest deals are yet to come’ this summer.

Newcastle’s summer re-build had been moving at a snails pace over the past few months, with the seemingly straight forward signings of Christian Atsu and Florian Lejeune being all we had been able to muster this time last week.

Since then however, we appear to have picked up the pace, with Jacob Murphy’s £12m signing being finalised yesterday and Javier Manquillo expected to complete his move today.

Whilst the above additions have been much needed, we all believe that the quality of our signings must pick up, and The Chronicle’s Mark Douglas has suggested they will do exactly that, with the NUFC editor predicting that the big signings are still to come:

We still require a proven goalscorer with calls for a no.10, left-back and central midfielder too, so Newcastle still have it all to do this summer to create a team capable of competing at Premier League level.

This is positive and potentially exciting news however – here’s hoping..

  1. Hardly very exciting him thinking big deals are too come , back his thoughts up with real evidence and then i will get excited. Who does he know of that we are after?

  2. He has contacts around the club and generally speaks a lot of sense. Him suggesting it doesn’t mean it’ll happen, but it’s promising to read.

  3. Forgive my doubting , its just we have been linked with so many players i dont know what to belive . My feeling is we need too shift players out of the club before any massive signing will be bought . The transfer sums have gone too such a diffrent level i think we are struggling badly .

  4. We dont seem to be able to compete with anybody where transfers are cincerned
Why didnt we bid for hernandez ?
Why have we bought manquillo for 4m when he was a disaster at sunderland?
Why do we sell a homegrown potential star for 6m .should he not of been advanced to first team lime other clubs do?
We stagnate our best young players and buy ***** after *****
Iam totally pissed off with our direction.
